Upgrading an Outpost
Upgrading an outpost requires anchoring a Upgrade platform, there are 3 levels of Upgrade Platform - Foundation, Pedestal and Monument. Each Upgrade platform has pre-requisites detailed below:Foundation Upgrade Platform
Requires Sovereignty Level 2Pedestal Upgrade Platform
Requires Sovereignty Level 3Requires a Foundation Upgrade Platform to already be in place
Monument Upgrade Platform
Requires Sovereignty Level 4
Requires a Pedestal Upgrade platform to already be in place

On each Level Upgrade Platform you can fit the following:
Foundation UP :- 1 Basic Outpost Upgrade
Pedestal UP :- a 2nd Basic and 1 Intermediate Outpost Upgrade
Monument UP :- a 3rd Basic, an additional Intermediate and 1 advanced
Outpost upgrade
That means an Outpost can have a maximum of 6 upgrades.
Each Outpost Upgrade consists of either an upgrade to refining,
manufacturing, offices or Science & industry.
So the process......
Please note the following screenshots are from Sisi (test
server) and may not be indicative of TQ.
- Get Sovereignty Level 2
- Build a Foundation Upgrade Platform
- Wait until after Downtime
- Build 1 basic Outpost Upgrade
- Wait until after Downtime
- Get Sovereignty Level 3
- Build a Pedestal Upgrade Platform
- Wait until after Downtime
- Build 1 more basic and 1 intermediate Outpost Upgrade (cannot build both in the same Downtime)
- Get Sovereignty Level 4
- Build a Monument Upgrade Platform
- Wait until after Downtime
- Build 1 more basic, 1 more intermediate and then 1 advanced Outpost Upgrade (need to build one per Downtime not all at once)
TIP: You can if you wish build all three Platform Upgrades (Foundation, Pedestal and Monument) and then add the 3 basic, 2 Intermediate and 1 advanced Outpost Upgrades afterwards.

Q - Can I anchor a platform and an upgrade together so I get both after downtime?
A - No, a station only has the facilities to have one upgrade or improvement platform anchored around it at one time, build the existing one and then try again.
Q - Can I damage an Upgrade Platform or Outpost Upgrade whilst it is anchoring?
A - Yes
Q - Can I damage an Upgrade Platform or Outpost Upgrade whilst it is in build mode?
A - Yes
