Q - What Skills are required to use the POS Scanner Array?A - Starbase Defense Management L1
Q - Can Alliance members use the Scanner Array?
A - Not at this time no.
Q - Can I anchor the System Scanner at any POS anywhere?
A - So long as you have Sovereignty level 2, which discounts it being used in empire, it can be anchored and used anywhere in 0.0 where sovereignty is available to the alliances.
Q - Why use the Scanner Array instead of Observator Deep Space Probes?
A - Couple of answers to this one, firstly the system scanning array only requires the Starbase Defense Management skill at level 1 whereas the Deep Space probe requires Astrometrics L5. Secondly the Deep Space probe has only a scan strength of 1 whereas the POS System Scanner has a strength of 25.
Q - Does the POS system scanner have a chance of failing to find every ship in the solarsystem?
A - Yes it does have a chance at failing to find ships, the scanner has a strength of 25 so it may not find all ships all the time. Just re-analyze like you do with normal probes to try again.
Q - Do my Astrometrics skills such as Astrometrics Pinpointing or Triangulation affect the outcome of the System Scanner Array?
A - No.
Q - What is the range of the POS System Scanner Array?
A - 999AU which pretty much covers an entire solarsystem.
Q - How long does it take for a scan to complete?
A - 90 Seconds.
